Rogers City Lutheran School

Preschool Program

The St. John Lutheran Preschool Program provides a safe, secure, challenging, and Christian environment for children to grow Spiritually, Academically, and Physically.

Open to the Community
Our program is open to the community and welcomes all 3- and 4-year-olds (must be 2.5 years old by September 1st).

Professional Teachers
We guide children with well-trained teachers who encourage an environment that is child-initiated and child-directed. Our professional teachers are required to have:

  • A four-year degree in early childhood education or a related field, or a nationally accepted
  • Child Development Credential
  • Teaching experience
  • Ongoing teacher training
  • Current first aid and CPR certifications, TB test, AED training, and Bloodborne Pathogen training

Flexible Schedule
Our program offers parents and caregivers a flexible schedule to meet the individual needs of each family and child. Preschool meets Monday through Friday for a Morning Session (8:00 – 11:30 a.m.) and Afternoon Session (11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.). A child may be enrolled for a minimum of 2 half days and maximum of 5 full days.

Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available through scholarships from St. John Lutheran Church and the Great Start Program. In addition, we help families explore other avenues to offset the cost of tuition including our participation in the Raise Right program. More than 45% of our families receive tuition assistance.

The Preschool Program is licensed by the State of Michigan Department of Human Services.
