After School Care at St. John Lutheran School in Rogers City, Michigan

After School Care

The St. John Lutheran School After School Care (ASC) Program was established by St. John Lutheran Church as part of the total ministry offered to all families with young children in our community. Our mission is to assist families through a Christ-centered After School Care program.

Open to the Community
Our program is open to the community and welcomes children in Preschool (age 3 and toilet trained) through age 12 for the current school year.

Educational Enrichment
One of the purposes of the ASC Program is to enhance the learning that goes on during the school day. Students will have extended learning opportunities, often utilizing St. John’s computers/tablets and STEM activities.

The ASC Program begins when school is dismissed for the day at 2:45 p.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. Children are welcome to attend as often as needed.

In general, the following events will be part of the schedule: physical activity (inside/outside), snack time, homework/quiet time, Devotion, enrichment/activity time, and free activity time. On occasion, children will have the opportunity to take a field trip with the ASC program.

The ASC Program is licensed by the State of Michigan Department of Human Services.
