Students spent three days at camp embracing nature with the theme Joy:Fully His in Nature. Nature hike with Magnus Wilson, Boy Scout leader, who explained our "Footprint" on nature. Dale Parris with the Michigan DNR held a session about identifying trees, determining their age, and sent studentson hunts to collect select types of tree specimens.

Educators held sessions covering poetry in nature, scavenger hunts, community building, using technology to capture moments in nature, Bible studies highlighting how students can count trails in life as joy when it tests faith as stated in James 1:2-3 2Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

"Our students, as campers, gain a sense of independence, develop a feeling for community, and learn how to support peers as they build trust and care for one another. Our "campers" interact with and appreciate students with different attitudes, values, and abilities as they constantly try and learn new things, requiring patience and grit." 
 
Various parent and community volunteers assisted in supervision, meal prep, community building, and overnight chaperoning.
